This photo was taken of 'the hut' just as you enter Tag Lane from the A4 end on the right-hand side.
I started life there when it was known as 'The Huts' in 1950. It was apparently an old Prisoner-Of-War camp for Italian prisoners of the 2nd World War. (Large Nissan Huts).
Of course, the 'Hut' that's there now is not the same as 'The huts' that we lived in, but good to see they kept a similar look :-)
Even though I was only 18 months - 2years old when we moved into the village, I still have very vivid memories of living there. Especially the 'Toomers' coal lorry arriving and the 'Co-op' Bread van (bright red).
I remember going up to the dairy which was about 100 yards up the road on the left to get our warm, pink milk for the day in a large white tin jug :-)
I also remember being chased out of a field (with my elder brothers and sisters dragging me along) by a very angry Bull :-(

Another very vivid meory was Me sat on the flint wall opposite 'The Horse & Groom' Pub on the A4 with my older sister and falling off, bumping my bonce. Then running back to the huts through a small orchard screaming that 'Old Nick' was after me ..... Something my Dad always said would happen if I misbehaved :-)
